OGDENSBURG — Rallies to stop cuts in Medicaid, housing, food assistance and other federal programs will be held Saturday, March 15, from noon- 2 p.m. at Rep. Elise Stefanik’s North Country offices.
In Ogdensburg, the rally will be at City Hall. A simultaneous rally is planned in Plattsburgh.
The events are organized by the North Country Neighbors for Civic Engagement, North Country NY Indivisible, and Adirondack Voters for Change.
“Right-wing politicians in Washington are moving forward with devastating proposals to cut trillions in Medicaid, housing, food assistance and other vital programs so that America’s wealthy Oligarch billionaires will not have to pay taxes,” the organizations said in a statement.
“Unelected billionaires have been given free rein to shut down services and force layoffs in order to use our tax money for their own ends.”
Supporters are asked to bring family and friends, along with a sign. For more info or to register, visit www.mobilize.us/northcountryindivisibleNY/event/760904
