MASSENA — A suspect has been arrested for arson in connection with a fire at an apartment at 196 Center Street.
Officials with the county district attorney’s office have also confirmed that the body of another person has been found at the address after the blaze.
Darren Kelley has been charged with second-degree arson, the district attorney’s office confirmed with North Country This Week this afternoon.
The office verified that one person was found dead at the address after the fire, however officials would not confirm if the deceased had succumbed to the fire or was dead before hand.
Officials would also not release the name of the victim.
An autopsy is planned.
Officials said the investigation is continuing and more charges are pending.
Further information on the arrest and other details are expected to be released by the Massena Police Department.
