MADRID – Madrid-Waddington Central School has recognized students in the Class of 2025 at Madrid-Waddington Central School who achieved the designation of Summa Cum Laude - “highest distinction,” by earning a grade point average of 95 or better.
Kaitlyn Putman: Kaitlyn Putman is the daughter of Clark and Nancy Putman. Kaitlyn plans on attending Saint Lawrence University majoring in Biology in the Pre-Vet program. She will be on the Volleyball and Track teams while in college. Kaitlyn achieved High Honor Roll throughout high school. Kaitlyn is a three sport athlete in volleyball, basketball, and track and field. She has served as captain for varsity volleyball and varsity basketball. She received the Patty Baldwin Volleyball award, earned the athlete of distinction in volleyball and basketball, was the West Division MVP in Volleyball, First Team All Northerns in both Volleyball and Track, Second Team All Northern, two-time 5th team all state Volleyball, and Section X Track and Field Throwing MVP. She is a member of Varsity Club, Outing Club, and History Club and participates in many community events. She is a leader as the President of National Honor Society and the President of Key Club. Kaitlyn is the St Lawrence County Dairy Princess. She has been employed part-time at St. Lawrence University with the athletic trainers. Kaitlyn has been awarded the Academic Excellence award, the Scarlet and Brown award and the Augsbury NorthCountry scholarship all from St. Lawrence University. Kaitlyn has earned an Advanced Regents Diploma with Honors, Mastery in Math and Science.
Annika Zysik: Annika Zysik is the daughter of Dr. Jonathan Zysik and Elizabeth Zysik. Annika plans on attending Hartwick College to major in Biology. Her ultimate career goal is to become a dentist. She has achieved High Honor Roll throughout high school. Annika has been an athlete in soccer, indoor and outdoor track and field, and lacrosse. During her athletic career, she achieved notable accolades in soccer, including the Coaches Award, Second Team All-Northern, and Athlete of Distinction. Annika has been a member of Varsity Club, Key Club, and National Honor Society. She has served as a leader in various roles throughout high school. She has been Captain of the Varsity soccer team, the student body liaison for the Madrid-Waddington Board of Education, Class Secretary as a freshman and Class President in her sophomore, junior and senior years. Annika volunteers in the community and her church, specifically by being an altar server and Sunday School Teacher at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Annika has also worked as a summer recreation counselor, an orthodontic assistant, a dental assistant and a fitness center supervisor at Madrid-Waddington school. Annika was featured as the Madrid-Waddington recipient of the WWNY Academic All Star. Additionally, Annika has been awarded the Evergreen STEM scholarship, the St. Lawrence County Supervisors’ Association scholarship and the Hartwick Flight Path Scholar Award. Annika has earned an Advanced Regents Diploma with Honors, Mastery in Math and Science.
