LISBON – Fifteen students at Lisbon Central School comprise the Class of 2025 Honors Group.
The students have earned a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 90 or higher and will be recognized this year. Students in this group have taken challenging high school courses, and some have earned college credit through SUNY Potsdam, Paul Smith’s College, Jefferson Community College, SUNY Canton, and North Country Community College.
They are:
Gretchen Braun, daughter of Peter and Michelle Braun, has earned the highest GPA at Lisbon in the Class of 2025 with a 96.84. Braun earned college credit through Paul Smith’s College and SUNY Canton. Gretchen will be attending Northwestern University in the fall, where she will pursue a Pre-med track.
Michael Barney, son of Michael and Amber Barney, is ranked second in the class with a 95.30 GPA. Barney earned college credit through SUNY Canton. Michael will be entering the workforce in the fall.
Tanner Fonda, son of Eric and Melinda Fonda, is ranked third in the class with a 95.26 GPA. Fonda earned college credit through Paul Smith’s College, SUNY Canton, and SUNY Potsdam. Tanner will be attending Clarkson University in the fall, where he will study Accounting.
Layla Rishe, daughter of Anthony and Mary Jane Rishe, is ranked fourth in the class with a 95.01 GPA. Rishe earned college credit through SUNY Canton, North Country Community College, and SUNY Potsdam. Layla will be attending the University at Buffalo, where she will study Biology.
Connor Claxton, son of Ryan and Marianne Claxton, is ranked fifth in the class with a 93.77 GPA. Claxton earned college credit through SUNY Potsdam, North Country Community College, and SUNY Canton. Connor will be attending SUNY Plattsburgh in the fall and will study Secondary Education for Earth Sciences.
Caleb Wilkinson, son of Kevin and Julia Wilkinson, is ranked sixth in the class with a 93.44 GPA. Wilkinson earned college credit through SUNY Canton. Caleb will be attending SUNY Canton in the fall, where he will study Pharmacy.
Mary Bonno, daughter of Jonathan and Kate Bonno, is ranked seventh in the class with a 93.36 GPA. Bonno earned college credit through SUNY Canton, North Country Community College, and SUNY Potsdam. Mary will be attending SUNY Plattsburgh in the fall, where she will study Childhood Education.
Rylea Kelley, daughter of Andrew and Michelle Kelley, is ranked eighth in the class with a 92.74 GPA. Kelley earned college credit through SUNY Canton and Jefferson Community College. Rylea will be attending SUNY Morrisville in the fall, where she will study Equine Science and Management.
Isaiah White, son of Sarah White, is ranked ninth in the class with a 92.56 GPA. White earned college credit through SUNY Canton and North Country Community College. Isaiah will be attending the University at Buffalo in the fall, where he will study Nursing.
Christopher Jacobs, son of Ron and Wendy Jacobs, is ranked tenth in the class with a 92.38 GPA. Jacobs earned college credit through SUNY Canton. Christopher will be entering the workforce in the fall.
Justin Dean, son of Ron and Aimee Dean, is ranked eleventh in the class with a 91.92 GPA. Dean has earned college credit through SUNY Canton and SUNY Potsdam. Justin will be attending SUNY Potsdam in the fall, where he will study Biology.
Averie Farrand, daughter of Patrick and Jill Farrand, is ranked twelfth in the class with a 91.91 GPA. Farrand earned college credit through SUNY Canton, North Country Community College, and SUNY Potsdam. Averie will be attending SUNY Geneseo in the fall, where she will study Early Childhood Education.
Kyra Randle, daughter of Eddie and Andrea Randle, is ranked thirteenth in the class with a 91.33 GPA. Randle earned college credit through SUNY Canton and SUNY Potsdam. Kyra will be attending SUNY Plattsburgh in the fall, where she will study Business.
Noah Gendebien, son of Blake and Carmen Gendebien, is ranked fourteenth in the class with a 91.01 GPA. Gendebien earned college credit through SUNY Canton and SUNY Potsdam. Noah will be attending UMass in the fall, where he will study Philosophy.
Jocelyn Lazaro, daughter of Tammy Lazaro, is ranked fifteenth in the class with a 90.81 GPA. Lazaro earned college credit through SUNY Canton and SUNY Potsdam. Jocelyn will be attending SUNY Cortland in the fall, where she will study Psychology.
