Lampson Falls hike in winter

Lampson Falls, with its 40 foot waterfall on the Grasse River, is a beautiful sight all year round.

Six hikers were recently treated to a snowy winter view of the waterfalls in Clare.

The event was led by Dr. Blair Madore, of the ADK Mountain Club, who often leads nature walks in St. Lawrence County.

This was one of many joint events led by Dr. Blair Madore, of the ADK Mountain Club. and the Potsdam Public Library on the Outside event.

The Lampson Falls hike is an easy 1.0-mile out-and-back trail near Russell, taking an an average of 19 min to complete.

The trailhead is located on County Route 27 in Clare, approximately 4 miles north of Degrasse. There is parking on the shoulder of the road.
