MADRID - Janet C. Raven, age 83, formerly of Madrid, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at Samaritan Summit Village in Watertown, NY. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her, offering support, encouragement, wisdom, and an abundance of love.

Janet was born January 3, 1941, to William and Venila McNally in Ogdensburg, NY. She graduated from Lisbon High School in 1958 and Watertown School of Commerce in 1959. She was married to her soulmate Warren Raven for nearly 45 years who preceded her in death in May 2005. Janet was employed as a bookkeeper at Kelly Sales in Madrid for 23 years.

She loved spending time with friends and family, reading, and traveling. One of her favorite trips was when she and Warren drove cross country seeing various landmarks and visiting family. She was a longtime member of the United Church of Madrid where she served as treasurer and also a member of the Red Hat Society, which she enjoyed with her friends.

Janet leaves behind her daughters and a son-in-law, Michelle Denney, Lawrenceville, GA, Lori (Michael) Rishe, Evans Mills, a sister Joyce (Garry) Wells, Madrid, 3 granddaughters, Casey Denney, GA, Nicole Marconi, and Sara Rishe both of Watertown as well as 4 great-grandchildren, who she absolutely adored along with several nieces and nephews.
