MASSENA—The New York Power Authority is accepting reservations for its holiday pajama party at the St. Lawrence-Franklin D. Roosevelt Power Project’s admission-free Frank S. McCullough, Jr. Hawkins Point Visitors Center.
The holiday pajama movie party will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6 at the visitors center. The party will feature movies, craft projects as well as a visit from Santa Claus, who will be available for pictures with children during the party. Registrations for the event can be made by calling 315-764-0226, ext. 716-6302. All children who are pre-registered by Dec. 5 will receive a special holiday memento.
Children can come in their pajamas and watch holiday movies including “How the Grinch Stole Christmas!” (1966), “Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer” (1964), “Frosty the Snowman” (1969), “Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town” (1970) and “A Charlie Brown Christmas” (1965). Movies will be shown in the visitors center theater.
Along with enjoying the movies, visitors can sample the array of hands-on exhibits at the Hawkins Point facility, which presents information on such themes as waterpower and the St. Lawrence-FDR project, basics of electricity and uses of electricity. Another highlight is the panoramic view of the project’s power dam from Hawkins Point.
