FOWLER — A Harrisville man was charged with impaired driving and criminal possession of a weapon following a personal-injury accident Dec. 15 on Emeryville Road, according to state police.

Joshua R. Hartle, 32, reportedly failed to negotiate a curve and exited the roadway striking trees and came to a rest, officers said.

While interviewing Hartle, he was showing signs of impairment, officers said.

Troopers reportedly searched the vehicle and located drug paraphernalia and a firearm.

Hartle was transported to Gouverneur Hospital, but later released due to no injuries.

He was charged with first-degree operating a motor vehicle impaired by drugs, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia, and vehicle and traffic law violations.

He was arraigned in Fowler court and released.
