MASSENA -- The granddaughter of a former St. Lawrence County judge is among the victims who lost their lives on Flight 5342 when the American Airlines flight crashed Wednesday.
According to reports, Melissa Nicandri, granddaughter of former St. Lawrence County Judge Eugene Nicandri, was aboard the American Airlines flight that collided with a U.S. Army Blackhawk helicopter over the Potomac River in the evening hours of Jan. 29.

Federal officials are still investigating the crash, with NTSB officials recently saying they are working on a timeline of the crash and conducting an extensive investigation to determine the cause.
