FOWLER — A Gouverneur man was charged with driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop in the town of Fowler, according to state police.
Troopers observed a blue 2006 Dodge Dakota commit a vehicle and traffic violation Jul3 3 around 10:30 p.m. while traveling on River Drive. A traffic stop was conducted shortly afterward on Main Street, officers said.
The driver, identified as 48-year-old Wayne C. Bresett of Gouverneur, exhibited signs of impairment during the incident, police said.
Troopers administered Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which Bresett allegedly failed.
He was taken into custody and transported to State Police barracks in Gouverneur for processing. A breath test revealed a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.12%.
Bresett was released with an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Town of Fowler Court in August.
