Canton-based non-profit GardenShare’s annual Fight Hunger Fair is on Sunday, Sept. 15 in Canton Village Park. This event combines GardenShare’s annual 5K with the presentation of their 2024 Growing Community Award, and the Veggie Adventure Run - a 1 mile course for children featuring exciting activities based on different aspects of our local food system. The Fight Hunger Fair will also feature educational games and activities centered around food system awareness, a story walk, and music, as well as tabling of community partners who strive to alleviate local hunger and food insecurity. All children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. Day-of registration will open at 12:30 p.m. and the 5K will begin just after 2 p.m. Register for the run at RunSignUp.com/fighthunger5k . Above, a runner in last year's event. GardenShare photo
