OGDENSBURG – The Frederic Remington Art Museum is thrilled to announce the launch of its brand-new lecture series, FRED Talks, with an exciting inaugural lecture on Thursday, March 13.
This first lecture, titled Guardians of the Gallery, will be presented by Romi Sebald, curator of the Frederic Remington Art Museum.
Ever wondered what it takes to preserve a priceless collection? Attendees will have the rare opportunity to go behind the scenes and explore the intricate world of collections care and conservation. Romi Sebald will provide an exclusive look at how museums protect delicate artworks, uncover the hidden challenges of preservation, and offer insight into the meticulous efforts involved in maintaining Frederic Remington’s renowned sculptures and paintings.
This is a unique chance for art lovers, history enthusiasts, and those curious about museum work to gain firsthand knowledge from an expert in the field. Guests will also get to see areas of the museum that are typically off-limits to the public.
The event will take place at the Frederic Remington Art Museum, located at 303 Washington St., and will begin at 12 p.m. Attendance is included with admission plus a $10 suggested donation.
