CRANBERRY LAKE— A hiker from the Albany area lost without a light source on the Cranberry Lake 50 trail was assisted by State Forest Rangers Saturday.
According to an Oct. 8 statement from the state Department of Environmental Conservation, Ray Brook Dispatch received a report of a lost hiker off the Cranberry 50 trail around 8 p.m. on Oct. 4.
Rangers Benzel and Shea responded to the provided coordinates off of Dead Creek trail and discovered that the hiker did not have a light source. After midnight on Oct. 5, Forest Rangers located the 51-year-old Feura Bush resident in good health and assisted them back to their vehicle.
