OGDENSBURG - SLC Arts is hosting the opening of a new exhibition at the Montpelier Gallery, located at Ogdensburg Free Academy, 1100 State St.
The exhibition is curated by OFA alum, Erica Kelso, and is the first in a new annual series of gallery shows.
“Nourishing Waters: Sustaining Our Stories” invited artists to explore the vital role of our waterways in the North Country region and their profound impact on our lives and communities. Exhibiting artwork celebrates the beauty, resilience, and significance of the region’s rivers, lakes, and streams, the organization said in a press release.
The showcase includes works from artists across the North Country, highlighting the diverse talents and perspectives of the community. This opportunity would not have been possible without the support of the Ogdensburg School District, the invaluable assistance of Dianne Drayse-Alonso, and the sponsorship of Northern Power and Light.  The exhibition will be open to the public for viewing on August 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. In September and early October, students across the district will engage with the exhibit as a way to enhance their curriculum, learning about local waterways and practices that have shaped our region.
