As part of her 2025 State of the State, Governor Kathy Hochul announced several initiatives to support New York families. One new program this year is the BABY Benefit, a birth allowance for low-income parents during pregnancy and birth. The program will provide $100 a month during pregnancy and $1,200 at birth for New Yorkers who receive public assistance.
