Legislation co-sponsored by state Senator Dan Stec (R,C-Queensbury) to provide tax relief to disabled Veterans today passed the Senate.
Senate bill S.1183 provides a property tax exemption for Veterans with a 100-perccent service-connected disability.
The measure is one way to show support for our nation’s heroes, who sacrifice their health and safety to protect our values globally and Stec urged the Assembly to take this measure up as well prior to the end of Legislative Session in the next few weeks.
“Our disabled Veterans have given so much of themselves to protect America. It’s only right that New York State offers its full support to those who became disabled during their service,” said Stec. “A property tax exemption for disabled Veterans is one small way we can express our gratitude and give them a measure of support. Co-sponsoring and helping to pass this bill was the right thing to do. I urge the Assembly to also do right by our disabled Veterans and pass this bill.”
