To the Editor:
As a proud member of the Potsdam village community, I want to extend my deepest gratitude and appreciation for the remarkable Summer Festival we recently experienced. This event, which draws thousands of attendees, is not only a highlight of our summer but also a significant boost to our local economy. The festival attracts visitors from near and far, benefiting local businesses and fostering a strong sense of community.
What many may not realize is that this entire event is organized by dedicated volunteers from our community, the Potsdam Chamber of Commerce, and just one full-time staff member. Special and sincere thanks are due to Melanie Flack, Chamber Executive Director, and Allison Carney of Brick and Mortar Music and Chamber President, for their tireless efforts in making this event possible. Their leadership, alongside the commitment of the entire events committee, has been instrumental in the festival's success. Additionally, I want to express heartfelt thanks to all the Potsdam Chamber volunteers, whose hard work—from garbage pick-up to vendor coordination—was vital to the smooth running of the event. The festival would not have been possible without these dedicated individuals.
I would also like to acknowledge the outstanding contributions of Stephanie Russo of Jernabi Coffeehouse and Becky Schwartz of Hoof and Horn. Their efforts, along with those of the many other volunteers, truly exemplify the spirit of Potsdam. The festival is a testament to what we can achieve when we come together as a community.
Moreover, I want to extend my gratitude to the sponsors listed on the Chamber's website and North Country Now's continuing support of the Summer Festival. Their generous support played a crucial role in making this event a reality and provided essential resources that enriched the experience for everyone involved.
The Summer Festival is more than just an event; it’s a celebration of what makes Potsdam special. Let us continue to support and cherish these moments that bring joy and prosperity to our town.
