HEUVELTON - Carl R. Wright, 75, of Heuvelton, NY, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. In keeping with his wishes, funeral services will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to Frary Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Ogdensburg, NY.

Born on May 6, 1949, in Ogdensburg, Carl was the son of the late George and Dora (Banford) Wright. He graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy in 1967 and went on to serve his country with honor in the United States Army until his discharge in 1970.

Carl worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for both the City of Ogdensburg and the Town of Oswegatchie, becoming known as one of the best in the trade. His expertise was often sought after, even after his retirement from municipal work. A passionate outdoorsman, Carl loved hunting and spending time on his beloved food plot, as well as hiking the hills of Mt. Alone, a place he held dear.

Those who knew Carl will remember him for his big heart, quick wit, and unwavering generosity. Whether lending a helping hand or sharing a laugh, Carl’s spirit and kindness left an enduring impact on everyone he met.

Carl is survived by his son, Jeff Wright, daughter-in-law Sara, and his grandchildren, Maxwell and Drew Wright of Cochrane, Alberta. He is also survived by his siblings: Dick Wright of Ogdensburg; Jerry Wright of Oregon; Paul Wright of Suffern, NY; Ann Denner of Morristown, NY; Bonnie (Dick) Powers of Ogdensburg; Carol Ashton of Ogdensburg; Arlene Longshore of Heuvelton; and Mike Wright of Ogdensburg. He was affectionately known as "Uncle Sid" to many nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.

He was predeceased by his brother, Jimmy Wright.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carl's memory to the Black Lake Fish and Game Club, P.O. Box 125, Hammond, NY 13646.
