AKWESASNE -- Akwesasne native and Team USA gold medalist Carey Terrance has signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Anaheim Ducks beginning with the 2025-26 NHL season.
The 19-year-old has played 45 games this season with the Erie Otters of the OHL, scoring 20 goals and assisting on 19 others for 39 total points.
Terrance also serves as the team's captain.
In his OHL career, Terrance has a total of 162 points in 230 games, including 89 goals and 73 assists, according to nhl.com.
Terrance was selected 59th overall in the 2023 NHL draft, landing in the second round after recording 52 points during the 2023-24 OHL season.
He also is among OHL leaders, tied for third in shorthanded goals with five, while leading the Otters in goals and shorthanded goals as well. He ranks fourth in points.
Terrance was also a key player in both the 2024 and 2025 World Junior Championships, helping Team USA to back-to-back gold medals.
He also won gold with Team USA at the 2023 U-18 World Championship.
Terrance also has the distinction of being the ninth Mohawk Nation skater drafted by an NHL team, according to nhl.com.
