The following is taken from Andy Gardner's article “After Cab Owners’ Concerns, Massena to Redraw Taxicab Bill” in the Feb. 25-March 3 issue: "Mayor Tim Currier said when he was police chief, they discussed requiring drug tests but ultimately decided against it as it could keep an unemployed person of limited means from finding work." I take exception to this decision made by the Board of Trustees. I'm all for opportunities for people to find employment, however, not requiring drug testing is irresponsible and dangerous. With the current drug culture, who bears the responsibility of a driver who is high and injures or kills his/her passenger?
