Patrick D. Whitney, 56, Ogdensburg

OGDENSBURG -- A celebration of life for Patrick D. Whitney, age 56, will be held at their home Thursday, July 11, 2019 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM. A memorial service will be begin at 4:00PM with Deacon Anthony Pastizzo officiating. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Frary Funeral Home, Ogdensburg. Mr. Whitney passed away on Thursday morning, July 4, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Whitney was survived by his wife, Susan; three children, Kacie Whitney and her fiancé, Robert Brown, Russell Whitney, and Jacob and his companion Nicole Warner all of Ogdensburg; two step-children, Zachary and Nolan Rishe of Ogdensburg; two brothers, Kevin Whitney and his wife Mary, of Ogdenburg, and TJ Whitney and his wife Kona of North Carolina; two sisters, Jean Goldie and her husband Robert, of Lisbon, Maureen Woods and her husband Scott of Hammond; one aunt, Anne Bertolf, of Ogdensburg; three grandchildren; Kierce Whitney, Spencer Whitney, and Emerson Rishe; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Beecher and Jean Whitney.

Patrick was born on February 28, 1963 in Ogdensburg, NY, the son of Beecher and Jean (Crawford) Whitney. He graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy in 1981 and continued his education in civil engineering at Canton ATC graduating with an associate’s degree in 1983.

Throughout high school and college, Pat worked at P & C Foods. After graduating college, he first began working at Nine Mile Point 2 in Oswego, NY in 1983. He later went to work with the Department of Transportation as a civil engineer and retired in April of 2018, after 32 years of service.

A marriage to Kimberly Graveline-Munroe ended in divorce. On October 8, 2016, Pat married Susan Dickinson in Ogdensburg, NY.

Pat enjoyed working, spending time outdoors, and using his many talents to remodel his home for himself and Susan. Pat also loved traveling and spending time with his family and friends. Pat’s love and laughter was instilled in everyone he came into contact with. He was a beautiful person who will never be forgotten.
