Michael W. Ehart Sr., 72, Fowler

Michael W. Ehart, 72, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2011 at his home. Michael was born April 29, 1939 in Watertown, the son of Clyde and Doris Bert Ehart. Michael graduated from Watertown High School in 1957 and served in the United States Air Force from 1959 to 1963. He married Bethany Fuller on May 30, 1964 at the Gouverneur First United Methodist Church with Rev. Stanley E. Brown officiating.

Michael worked as a draftsman and estimator before retiring from Fort Drum as a property manager for the Division of Housing after over twenty years of civilian employment.

Mr. Ehart enjoyed playing golf, spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters, watching sports, and being outdoors landscaping, gardening, taking care of his lawn, and puttering around the family home. He was a member of Gouverneur Elks Lodge #2035.

Mike is survived by his wife, Bethany; a son, Michael W. Ehart Jr. and his fiancé Laura Travis of Supply, NC; three granddaughters, Taylor, Brooke, and Megan Ehart; two brothers-in-law, Clyde Spicer and Bill Weaver; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 5th at 11:00 a.m. at the Green Funeral Home, Gouverneur with Rev. William Hart, pastor of the Hermon United Methodist Church officiating and burial in Hailesboro Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
