Josephine “Joan” Lantry, 98, Massena

Mrs. Josephine “Joan” Lantry, 98, formerly of 190 East Hatfield St., Massena, passed away on Friday morning, June 4, 2010 at the St. Regis Nursing Home, Massena, where she had been a resident since 2005.

Joan was born January 3, 1912 in Scranton, Penn., the daughter of Walter and Tekla Adams Jaditz. She attended schools in Scranton.

On June 2, 1946, she married Donald J. Lantry at the Corpus Christi Church in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ, with Rev. F. M. Mulquinn, officiating.

Joan was a homemaker and a communicant of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Massena. She enjoyed flower gardening and the common everyday living.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Donald; a sister, Helen Prezkop of Clark Summit, Penn.; a brother, Walter Jaditz of Clark Summit, Penn.; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Digilio and Bertha Green, and a brother, Ted Jaditz.

Friends may call at the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena, on Monday 9 to 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Rev. J. Michael Gaffney, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Bombay.
