CANTON -- State police arrested 37-year-old Melissa L. Castner of Bangor on June 6 for making phone calls to a victim who was the protected party on a duly served order of protection.
An investigation revealed that Castner made multiple calls to the victim while she was incarcerated at the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility, between the dates of May 2, 2018, and May 7, 2018, state police said.
During the calls, Castner encouraged the victim to drop charges against her stemming from a previous domestic incident.
Castner was charged with second-degree criminal contempt and fourth-degree tampering with a witness, both misdemeanors.
She was released back to the custody of the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility with appearance tickets returnable in the Town of Canton Court on June 13 at 1:30 p.m.
