WINTHROP -- A Winthrop man is accused of choking a pregnant female and touching her breast Friday.
James EW. Markes, 65, of 14B Reservation Road, is alleged by St. Lawrence County Sheriff's deputies to have pushed a pregnant female against a refrigerator, grabbed her by the throat with one hand and squeezed her breast with the other.
Markes was arraigned in Potsdam Village Court on misdemeanor charges of obstruction of breathing or blood circulation and forcible touching. Bail was set at $1,000 cash or $2,000 bond.
An order of protection was issued for the victim.
