Widespread snow showers are possible this afternoon into the evening hours across the St. Lawrence Valley, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
Accumulations between a dusting to 4 inches will be possible, with the highest amounts across the Adirondacks, NWS says.
The high today will be around 35 with snow and rain showers likely. An overnight low of 33 is expected with rain and snow showers expected to continue, the service says.
Additional snow showers are likely through Tuesday, NWS says. By mid-week quiet weather returns with seasonable late January conditions anticipated.
The forecast through Saturday is as follows:
Monday
Snow showers likely before 2pm, then rain and snow showers likely between 2pm and 3pm, then snow showers likely after 3pm. Cloudy, with a high near 35. West wind 7 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Monday Night
A 50 percent chance of snow showers. Cloudy, with a low around 21. West wind 7 to 9 mph. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Tuesday
A 30 percent chance of snow showers before 10am. Cloudy, with a high near 25. Northwest wind 6 to 8 mph. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
