COLTON -- A large group of volunteers from the Laurentian Chapter of the Adirondack Mountain Club, the St. Lawrence Mountain Bike Association, SUNY Potsdam, and others recently spent a weekend maintaining and improving the trails in Stone Valley between Hannawa Falls and Colton.
Organizer Mark Simon, in the front row in the photo wearing orange vest, planned projects that included removal of trash from the forest near Lenny Road; construction of stairs on the east side river trail; and improving mountain bike trails.
Many of the tools the crew is holding were donated by Brookfield Renewable Power. Photo John Barron.
