RUSSELL — Two women were hospitalized after crashing an ATV at Sweet Pond Hunting Club on Saturday, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies.
Deputies responded to a report of a rollover ATV accident with multiple injuries around 4:15 p.m. and upon investigation found a 2000 Arctic Cat down an embankment, officers said.
Brianna Snow, 23, Webster, was driving the ATV when she lost control, exited the trail and was thrown from the vehicle, deputies said. Her passenger, Ashley Sparacino, 25, Pulaski, was also ejected from the ATV.
Snow suffered a head injury and was airlifted to SUNY Upstate Hospital in Syracuse where she is listed in stable condition, officers said.
Sparacino was transported by Star Lake Rescue to Clifton-Fine Hospital and later transported to Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown for her injuries, deputies said.
Neither woman was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, officers said.
Deputies said their investigation is ongoing.
Hermon Rescue also assisted on scene.
