Two new cases of COVID-19 reported in SLC Sunday; hospitalizations down to three

CANTON -- St. Lawrence County Public Health reports that there were two new case of COVID-19 reported Sunday, May 10, bringing the total number of confirmed positive cases to-date to 192.

Three cases are reportedly hospitalized.

Public Health said 146 cases have been released from isolation.

Officials said 3,508 have been tested in SLC as of May 10. This testing data comes from the New York State Department of Health.

Testing is being done through both St. Lawrence Health Systems and Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center. Testing is by appointment only. Call the hotline numbers below between 8 a.m.-4 p.m. if you have symptoms or feel you should be tested:

• St. Lawrence Health System, 315-261-6240;

• Claxton Hepburn Medical Center, 315-713-6655;

• Clifton-Fine Hospital, 315-848-8049; and

• St. Lawrence County Public Health Department, 315-229-3448.

All residents should continue to stay home as much as possible, Public Health said. The department advises that those venturing out for groceries, medical care, or work should wear a face covering and stay 6 feet away from others. Residents should continue to wash hands with soap for 20 seconds often, and clean and disinfect commonly touched surfaces regularly, Public Health said.
