OGDENSBURG – Two local artists took second place and best in show at Frederic Remington Art Museum’s 2019 Members’ Juried Art Exhibit, which was on display from May 18 through Sept. 15.

Second place went to Thomas Novosel of Massena, for “The Eggman Court, 2018,” technical pen on bristol paper; and best in show went to Sharon H.J. Cheng of Potsdam, for “Summer Fragrance, 2014,” oil on canvas.

The public was invited to view the exhibition, either in person or online at www.fredericremington.org, and vote once for the Public’s Choice Award. The results were tallied and announced at the closing of the exhibition.

The exhibition featured the following other local artists: Carol Backus, Waddington; Georgette Bacon, Nicholville; Gary Baker, Joannie Baker, Russell Dirks, Dianne Drayse-Alonso, Christine LeBel, Jim Lyons-Hart, Mary Marcinko, Doug McDonald and Thomas Robarge, Ogdensburg; Julianna Collins and Eleanor Morgan, Potsdam; Steven C. Cobb, Massena; David Crowell and Julie Pratt, Canton; Jeff Davis and Paul N. Pedersen, Hermon; Vicky Hollis, Janell McNeil (with Luna McNeil) and Beverly J. Patchin, Lisbon; Suzanne Lebeda, South Colton; Maria Pedroso-Parker, Gouverneur; Raymond Whalen, South Colton; and Pam Winchester, Hammond.

The next juried art exhibit on display at the Museum will be the International Juried Art Exhibit, which opens with a free public reception on Saturday, Sept. 21 from 2-4 p.m.
