GOUVERNEUR -- The Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence Counties Central Trades and Labor Council recently voted unanimously to endorse Nicole Terminelli in this Thursday’s Democratic Primary Election.

She is seeking to represent the St. Lawrence County legislature’s 14th District and is running for the Democrat nod in Thursday’s primary.

Greg Paquin, a Democrat not seeking re-election, currently holds the seat.

In a prepared statement, Labor Council President Ronald P. McDougal said that Terminelli “has emerged as a true leader among a new generation of labor activists and political candidates who truly wants to have an impact on the communities that she serves. Nicole is an excellent teacher and a dedicated Sister in Labor. The Labor Council is proud to extend our endorsement to her and we ask that voters in Massena vote for Nicole on Thursday.”

Terminelli is entering her 10th year as a sixth-grade teacher, which is her ninth at Jefferson Elementary School. She is a member of the New York State United Teachers (NYSUT) and the Massena Federation of Teachers. She also serves on the Jefferson Social Committee and the District’s Technology Committee and she is also the leader of the Positivity Project Partner School project within the district, according to the Labor Council release.

Primary voting in Massena will take place at the Massena Community Center, 61 Beach St. between noon and 9 p.m. on Thursday, September 13.
