LISBON -- The Town of Lisbon has temporarily closed the Lisbon Beach, campground and boat launch to the public.
“This is a temporary measure and being done to do our part as a municipality to limit and stop the spread of the coronavirus, also known as COVID-19. This is in effect as of [8 a.m. Friday, April 10] until further notice,” Town Supervisor Bill Nelson said in a news release.
“This is a serious health situation, and we are asking people to have the discipline to follow social distancing, and are encouraging our residents to comply with Sheriff Bigwarfe request of no non-essential travel except to an essential occupation, a medical appointment, or to buy food or medications,” the supervisor said.
“The Town Board asks all residents to exercise caution and practice preventative measures as directed by the County Public Health and the CDC. We are hopeful that this pandemic will pass in a timely fashion and the town will be able to resume business as usual.”
