Town of Edwards extends state of emergency 'until further notice'

EDWARDS -- The Edwards Town Board recently passed a resolution extending their state of emergency declaration for the town until further notice.

Town Supervisor Jan Lennox originally declared a state of emergency on March 19 to respond to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Town Offices will be closed to the public and all business will be conducted via phone, email and or regular mail. There is also a drop box.

• Highway Department, employees will not be required to report to work unless directed by the Highway Supervisor and will only be called in for essential services; 315-562-3265 or 315-767-1615, edwardshwy@tds.net.

• Code Enforcement Officer, operating via phone and email from home; 315-323-3671, rwhitford3@gmail.com.

• Assessor Office, will operate via phone and email from home; 315-244-6800, edwardsassessor@gmail.com.

• Town Court, closed until April 21; anyone needing to address the court can do so by phone or email, 315-562-3274, sdl@tds.net.

The Park will remain closed until further notice.

The Town Board asks that all residents exercise caution and practice preventative measures as suggested by Public Health and the CDC.
