Thunderstorms today in St. Lawrence County could produce hail, heavy rain, cloud-to-ground lightning

Strong to locally severe thunderstorms are possible during the mid to late afternoon hours, and into early evening, across St. Lawrence County, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

Stronger cells have the potential for strong wind gusts up to 60 mph and small hail, the service said.

Dangerous cloud-to-ground lightning and brief heavy rainfall is also expected, forecasters said.

If you have outdoor plans for this afternoon into this evening, stay tuned to the latest forecasts and possible warnings later today, NWS said.

The high temp today will be around 74 with winds increasing as the day goes on, forecasters predict. Tonight expect a low around 55 with gusty winds and possible hail.

Friday will be a bit cooler, with temps topping out around 66 and mostly cloudy skies, NWS said. The overnight low will be around 50.

A 20 percent chance of showers before 9am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 66. North wind 7 to 9 mph.

Partly cloudy, with a low around 50. Calm wind becoming south around 6 mph after midnight.

Showers likely, mainly after 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 69. South wind 6 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Showers, mainly before 11pm. Low around 59. Southwest wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
