Summer events at Ogdensburg library will feature zoo trip, reading programs

OGDENSBURG –A space-themed reading program, visiting zoo animals, and tie-dying shirts are among the activities at Ogdensburg Public Library this summer.

A Summer Kick-Off Party is planned for Friday, June 21 at 4 p.m. at Ogdensburg Library Park with youth games, crafts, and other activities, provided by Ogdensburg Recreation Dept, the library, and other agencies.

Summer events at the library include:

*June 22: Tie-dye shirts; bring your own shirt; 1 p.m. Ogdensburg Public Library in the park.

*June 27: Family Book Club for June: “Roller Girl” by Victoria Jamieson; make a T-shirt and come up with a roller derby name; 5 p.m.

*July 3: See live animals from Utica Zoo; 1:00 p.m; Ogdensburg Library.

*July 10: Space-themed craft for summer reading; for ages 5-12; 11 a.m.

*July 11: See live animals with an outer space theme; 2:00 p.m.; Ogdensburg Library.

*July 17: Space-themed craft for summer reading; for ages 5-12; 11 a.m.

*July 18: Comic book film with a cosmic captain; 5:30 p.m.

*July 24: Professional children’s musical performer Nan Hoffman; 2:30 p.m.

*July 25: Family Book Club- July’s book: “Kid Spy” by Mac Burnett; all ages; 5:00 p.m.

*July 25: Free Narcan training for the community; presented by St. Lawrence County Dept. of Public Health; 6 p.m; Ogdensburg Public Library.

*August 14: Play drums from around the world.
