NORWOOD – Representatives from Congress and the state Legislature will be on hand when the Village of Norwood celebrates completion of extensive renovations to its municipal building Friday, Oct. 7 at 3 p.m.
Mayor James McFaddin says U.S. Rep. Bill Owens, state Sen. Joe Griffo, Assemblywoman Addie Russell and USDA Rural Development State Director Jill Harvey are among those expected at the dedication. Other local dignitaries will be attending as well.
The public is invited. There will be hors d’ouevres.
The village hall, built in 1952, has undergone a $442,000 renovation, about $50,000 of which came from a USDA rural development grant.
The exterior has been redone, it has been insulated and a boiler has been replaced, new kitchen facilities have been installed, and two new handicapped-accessible bathrooms have been built, among other improvements.
