HOPKINTON – A St. Regis Falls man is accused of running over a man in Hopkinton in the course of a dispute.

State police said they arrested Christopher A. Mousaw, 57, Friday after he ran over a person with his vehicle on Thursday at about 12:30 p.m. on State Route 458 in the town of Hopkinton.

During a confrontation with the victim, Mousaw menaced the victim with an umbrella, and then drove his vehicle toward the victim, knocking him down to the ground and then running over the victim’s right leg, finally fleeing the scene, according to troopers.

The victim was transported to Canton Potsdam Hospital and then to the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington where he was diagnosed with a fractured right femur.

Mousaw was charged with first-degree and second-degree menacing.

Mousaw was arraigned in Stockholm Town Court and remanded to St. Lawrence County jail in lieu of $2,000 cash bail or $4,000 bond.
