CANTON -- The St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office has extended the ban on county jail inmate visits until April 30.
An announcement from Sheriff Brooks Bigwarfe says they will review the suspension then, if necessary.
The visitation suspension is because of the coronavirus pandemic. The announcement cites rising cases in St. Lawrence County.
Clergy and attorneys needing access to parishioners or clients should call 315-379-2367 to arrange secure visitation. Arrangements will remain at the discretion of the sheriff, the announcement said.
The Sheriff’s Office is also exploring internet-based video visitation for attorney client appointments. They say they will give an update if that’s possible.
