With the current pandemic, St. Lawrence County Public Transit is offering help with transportation to employment, medical appointments, grocery stores and pharmacies, according to Volunteer Transportation Coordinator Peggy Durant.
Public transit bus routes are active, but there is the option for clients that cannot ride the bus to be picked up and directly transported to their destination.
Transit buses are thoroughly disinfecting and practicing social distancing with seats blocked off to keep a safe distance.
For clients riding with a volunteer driver, transport is now limited to one person per vehicle. If possible, grocery shopping should be only once a week or longer.

For questions or concerns call public transit at 315-386-2600.
Meal delivery service is being offered at this time. Clients can order food ahead of time and have it brought directly to their door. Volunteer drivers will pick up the boxed food and will call when they are on their way to set up a drop off time.
If clients are unable to get needed supplies, they can call 315-386-2600.
At this time fares have been waived for all Public Transit routes until April 20, 2020, to help during this time.
