St. Lawrence County Public Health reports two new cases of COVID-19 Monday, May 11

Two new cases of COVID-19 were reported to the St. Lawrence County Public Health Department today (Monday, May 11).

The total number of confirmed positive cases to-date to 194, Public Health reports.

Public health said 152 cases have been released from isolation, four cases are currently hospitalized, and two deaths have occurred. Public Health said this fatality data comes from the New York State Department of Health and was last updated on May 11 before 2 p.m.

Public Health said 3,555 people have been tested for COVID-19 as of May 10. This testing data comes from the New York State Department of Health and was last updated on May 11 before 2 p.m.

Testing is being done through both St. Lawrence Health Systems and Claxton Hepburn Medical Center. Testing is by appointment only.

It is "very important" all residents continue to stay home as much as possible, wear a face covering and stay 6 feet away from others when venturing out for groceries, medical care, or work, Public Health said. The department also urges residents to wash hands with soap for 20 seconds often, and clean and disinfect commonly touched surfaces regularly.
