St. Lawrence County Public Health learns of no new COVID cases Thursday
St. Lawrence County Public Health Department officials say there were no new cases of COVID-19 reported in the county today, Thursday, May 21.
The total number of countywide infections stands at 197."There is a lot of excitement around Phase One of reopening of a few industries including: manufacturing, construction, curbside retail, and agriculture/fishing/forestry. However, the NY On Pause order continues through May 28. This means that through phase one, it is still very important to continue to stay home as much as possible, socialize with household members only and avoid nonessential gathering of any size, as these are still not allowed; wear a face covering and stay 6 feet away from others when venturing out for groceries, medical care, or work; wash hands with soap for 20 seconds often, and clean & disinfect commonly touched surfaces regularly," says an announcement from Public Health.
Three people are hospitalized with the illness, and 6,809 people im the county have been tested as of this afternoon.
