CANTON -- The St. Lawrence County Public Health Department is hosting a free rabies clinic Thursday, Sept. 12 from 5-7 p.m. at the Canton Human Services Building.
Every dog, cat, and ferret 3 months or older is required to be vaccinated -- this includes pets who normally do not go outside.
Pre-registration is available for this clinic to make the onsite process quicker. When you pre-register, you do not need to show up until your scheduled clinic time. The pre-registration link is www.health.ny.gov/gotoclinic/45.
The rabies vaccine will protect pets for three years, said a press release from Public Health. Dogs and cats receiving their first rabies vaccine will need a booster in one year.
Bring a current rabies certificate (not rabies tag) if one is available, as this is the proof of vaccination.
For help with pre-registration or for more information on the rabies clinic, call Public Health at 315-386-2325.
