CANTON — The St. Lawrence County Office for the Aging recently sponsored a Holiday Basket Drive for senior citizens involved the department’s home delivered meal program.
Community members, senior clubs and organizations generously donated gift items provided monetary contributions for the baskets.
The drive was a huge success and 120 baskets were created, according to Andrea Montgomery, director at St. Lawrence County Office for the Aging. “This was a huge boost from last year’s total of 100.”
“Thank you to everyone who gave either their time and/or presents for the baskets,” she said. “The holidays can be a lonely time for older adults in the county and these baskets helped make the holiday season brighter.”
