OGDENSBURG -- Retired newspaper publisher and editor Charles W. Kelly was presented with a special state Senate resolution at the recent Ogdensburg Boys and Girls Club Expo.
State Sen. Patty Ritchie, who introduced the resolution in the Senate earlier this year to honor the longtime journalist, made the presentation.
Kelly helped found the Ogdensburg Boys and Girls Club and the annual Expo. He was an active journalist for 57 years. He oversaw The Journal in Ogdensburg, the Advance News, the St. Lawrence Plaindealer in Canton, the Massena Courier Observer, the Malone Telegram and the Rural News. He wrote "Kelly Comments" for over 50 years.
