Rain continues to create possible flooding issues in St. Lawrence County; temps to warm all week

A low pressure system continues to slowly lift northeastward across and then east of Northern New York today with the widespread rain and periods of showers throughout the day, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

NWS says St. Lawrence County residents can still anticipate possible flooding issues as water reaches mainstem rivers following heavy rainfall overnight.

Quiet weather returns through mid-week with the next chance for showers moving in towards the end of the week, the service says.

Expect a high today of 42 with an 80 percent chance of rain that will drop between a tenth of an inch to a quarter inch of rain on the region, forecasters say.

The forecast through the weekend is as follows:

Monday Night

Rain showers likely, possibly mixing with snow after 9pm, then gradually ending. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 31. West wind 13 to 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Tuesday

Sunny, with a high near 49. West wind around 15 mph.

Tuesday Night

Mostly clear, with a low around 32. West wind 3 to 7 mph.

Wednesday

Sunny, with a high near 53. Calm wind becoming northwest 5 to 7 mph in the morning.

Wednesday Night

A 30 percent chance of showers after 2am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 38. Southeast wind 5 to 7 mph.

Thursday

A 50 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 60. Southeast wind 8 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.

A 30 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 51. South wind around 14 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph.
