Public Health: Three new cases of COVID-19 in St. Lawrence County

Posted

St. Lawrence County Public Health Department officials learned of three new cases of COVID-19 today, bringing the county's total to 197.

So far, 170 of those have been released from isolation.

And 6,132 people have been tested.

Public Health says people still need to only go into public for essential purposes, despite the first phase of economic reopening.

"There is a lot of excitement around Phase One of reopening of a few industries including: manufacturing, construction, curbside retail, and agriculture/fishing/forestry. However, the NY On Pause order continues through May 28th. This means that through phase one, it is still very important to continue to stay home as much as possible, socialize with household members only and avoid nonessential gathering of any size, as these are still not allowed; wear a face covering and stay 6 feet away from others when venturing out for groceries, medical care, or work; wash hands with soap for 20 seconds often, and clean & disinfect commonly touched surfaces regularly," the department said.
