No new cases of COVID-19 were reported to the St. Lawrence County Public Health Department today (Monday, May 18), therefore the total number of confirmed positive cases to-date to 194.
One hundred sixty-eight cases have been released from isolation*
Three cases are currently hospitalized.
Two deaths have occurred; this fatality data comes from the New York State Department of Health and was last updated on May 18 before 2 p.m.
Public Health said that 6,061 people have been tested for COVID-19 as of May 17; this testing data comes from the New York State Department of Health and was last updated on May 18 before 2 p.m.
Testing is being done through both St. Lawrence Health Systems and Claxton Hepburn Medical Center. Testing is by appointment only.

Public Health said there is a lot of excitement around Phase One of reopening of a few industries including: manufacturing, construction, curbside retail, and agriculture/fishing/forestry. However, the NY On Pause order continues through May 28. This means that through phase one, it is still very important to continue to stay home as much as possible, socialize with household members only and avoid nonessential gathering of any size, as these are still not allowed, said Public Health.
County residents are advised to wear a face covering and stay 6 feet away from others when venturing out for groceries, medical care, or work; wash hands with soap for 20 seconds often, and clean & disinfect commonly touched surfaces regularly.
