Primary results: Nelson gets GOP nod in Lisbon; Kennedy; Miller in for Potsdam Dems; Fisher, Price, Dillabough win in O'burg

Unofficial St. Lawrence County primary results have William Nelson receiving the Republican nomination for Lisbon town supervisor and Toni Kennedy and Marty Miller getting the nod to run as Democrats for the Potsdam Town Council.

Nelson, a former mayor of Ogdensburg, is ahead 267 votes to James Armstrong's 102. Nelson also picked up the Conservative nomination 9 votes to none for Armstrong.

In Potsdam, incumbent Toni Kennedy and newcomer Marty Miller secured Democrat nominations for the two ballot slots by respective vote tallies of 106 and 70 to Keith Mitchell's 50.

In other St. Lawrence County primary results:

• Steven Fisher (109 votes), David Price (87 votes) and William Dillabough (83 votes) are in the lead to get the GOP nod for three Ogdensburg city councilor slots. Justin Jones received 62 votes.

• In Clifton, John Dragun received 34 votes to Mark Friden's 16 in the primary to run as a Democrat for town justice. The two also squared off for the GOP nod, which went to Dragun 

• In Lisbon, Alberta Hyde will get the GOP nomination for town clerk. She received 211 votes to Angela McLear's 101 and Ashley Gray's 59. Hyde also received seven votes to Gray's two for the Conservative nod.

• In Fowler, Jeffrey Andrews with 48 votes and Karen Simmons with 43 are in the lead to win two GOP nominations for Town Council. Ronald Blair has 23 votes.

• In Macomb, Bill Law has 58 votes, clinching the GOP nod for highway superintendent over Aaron Cardinell with 13. The two also ran off for an Independence nomination, where Law got three votes and Cardinell received none. And in a run off for two GOP town council nominations, Richard Youngs has 59 votes and Bret Martin has 40. They lead Shawn Clark with 30 and Linda Cardinell with 11.

• James Phillips is ahead in the run for the Republican nomination for Morristown town justice. He received 107 votes to Arik G. Turner's 98.

• Also in Morristown, David VanArnam (137 votes) and Gary B. Turner (110 votes) are ahead in the three-way race for two GOP town council nominations. Ethyn Moquin received 108 votes.

• Karen Wayering is ahead of Megan Sharpe by just two votes, 21-19, to get the Republican nomination to run for Hermon town clerk.

• In Lousivlle, William P. Shirley won 52-10 over Melissa M. Quintavale for the GOP highway superintendent nomination.

The results are unofficial and do not include absentee ballots.
