Price Chopper Supermarkets, which operates five locations in St. Lawrence County, is recalling five flavors of streusel pies.
The grocer is issuing a voluntary recall on its Price Chopper Bakery five- and eight-inch apple, blueberry, cherry, and peach streusel pies because the streusel topping contains eggs, an allergen that was not listed among the ingredients on the label.
Other than this labeling issue, the product is safe for consumption for those not allergic to eggs, according to Price Chopper.
Price Chopper says it is employing its Smart Reply notification program, which uses purchase data and phone numbers on file in connection with the company’s AdvantEdge loyalty card to alert those who might have bought the pies.
Price Chopper operates stores in Canton, Potsdam, Massena, Gouverneur and Ogdensburg in St. Lawrence County.
Customers can return the product to their local Price Chopper for a full refund.
