OGDENSBURG -- The phone and fax lines were down at Ogdensburg DMV all day on Thursday and they may be down Friday as well.
Although the county IT Department is working on the problem, they are not sure when it will be fixed, County Clerk Mary Lou Rupp said.
If someone needs to contact DMV regarding a DMV issue, they can call one of the other three St. Lawrence County DMV offices.
For those registering a vehicle who would normally have their insurance company fax their card to the DMV office, there is another possible alternative. They can have their insurance company email a bar-coded insurance card to them and if they can bring it up on a smartphone, which the DMV clerks are able to scan.
